About Mentor

We are proud to have Advocate Vivek Singh as the lead mentor for this Course. An alumnus of Mumbai University (B.L.S.LL.B.) and a seasoned legal professional with 6 years of experience, he has a thriving practice across Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and India.

His core expertise spans litigation, writ petitions, constitutional matters, banking & finance, debt recovery, labor laws, contractual disputes, dispute resolution, and corporate advisory for startups. Widely recognized as a skilled draftsman, his precision in drafting contracts, petitions, and corporate policies is valued by law firms, corporates, and counsels alike.

About the Course:

The 5-Week Litigation Practice & Courtroom Advocacy Course is a comprehensive, practice-oriented program designed to equip law students and young advocates with real courtroom skills that are rarely taught in law schools. This course focuses on civil litigation, taking participants step-by-step through the entire life cycle of a case—from the first client meeting to final arguments before the court.

Course Module:

CIVIL

  1. PRE-FILING STAGE
    1.1. Interviewing client, seeking entire facts of the case
    1.2. Preparing case brief with facts, grounds, injury and law
    1.3. Determining if legal notice/ Statutory Demand Notice is to be
    issued
    1.4. If Government is to be involved then sending mandatory notice
    and limitation for such notice
    1.5. Analysing Reply to notice of other side
    1.6. Negotiation / Mediation – a mandatory practice to be adopted
    pre-trial
    1.7. Interpretation of Statutes- a practical approach
    1.8. Drafting the case – an ethical & moral approach such as whom
    to add as parties, Relating damage to the added parties, being
    specific about reliefs.
    1.9. Practice of Affidavit, calculating court fee and obtaining client
    signatures on plaint/application/petition.
  2. POST FILING STAGE – CASE ADMISSION
    2.1. Presenting the case to the Judge – short, crisp and precisely
    2.2. Laying foundations for the trial
    2.3. Documents to be pressed at the time of admission to establish a
    prima facie case
    2.4. Seeking leave to personally serve notice to the other side
  3. APPEARANCE, REPLY AND REBUTTAL
    3.1. Appearance of the Respondent, serving copies of case
    3.2. Law and court practice in case of non appearance of the
    Respondent/Defendant
    3.3. Drafting Written Statement/ reply, Analysing Plaint and
    ascertaining counter claim/set off
    3.4. Condonation of delay, practice and law3.5. Analysing law of issues, a conscious reading of draft issues
    before issues are framed
    3.6. Recasting of issues, practice, law and procedure

  4. EXAMINATION IN CHIEF & CROSS EXAMINATION (EIC & CE)
    4.1. Law and Practice of EIC & CE (General)
    4.2. Necessary questions to put before touching subjective issues
    4.3. Practice of EIC
    a. Forming questions- a strategical approach
    b. Types of questions to put to a witness
    c. Types of questions not put to a witness
    d. Over questioning – a road to blunder
    4.4. Practice of CE
    a. Types of questions to put to witness
    b. Types of questions not to put to a witness
    c. Questions put considering EIC

  5.   FINAL ARGUMENTS
    5.1. Right to begin
    5.2. Practice of observation
    5.3. Preparing rebuttal/counter to other side’s arguments
    5.4. Compiling case laws
    5.5. Providing an easy and comparative analysis of both side
    arguments for the ease of Judge
    5.6. Etiquettes of arguments

This optional E-Filing module is designed for students who want hands-on exposure to court procedures and modern litigation practices. This module will be offered at an additional cost and is strictly optional.
