Not too long ago an US activist had talked about the End it movement where she had expressed the fact that there has to be an end to human trafficking and sex abuse especially doping young children into the narcotics industry.According to an article on Trafficking Matters about 15 percent of child trafficking survivors surveyed in 2014 admitted that they engaged in substance abuse.Some of the information about young children coerced in to the drug dealing business have been taken from the Polaris project.According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse,drug traffickers may also be transporting people as a source of money.Child traffiickers may also force their victims to smuggle drugs across borders.Human traffickers may also force their victims to smuggle drugs across borders.Child traffickers can use drugs as ‘baits’ to recruit people who have a substance use disorder or can make victims forcefully use the drugs to obey the orderor work harder for them for long hours.However there is a strong connection between substance abuse and child trafficiking.Usually the people who have an addiction towards drugs are pushed into the business.The two social issues are vitally connected so if one gets reduced or eradicated the other automatically comes to a standstill.In a survey of 349 participants around 63 had been asked to traffic drugs and 134 had seen someone else being asked to traffic drugs.Factor analysis showed that different people being exposed to different forms of drug trafficking which relates to community violence.Research has shown that amphetamine type stimulants are the most common type of drugs used amongst children and youth.A 1996 eight city study showed that half of the people prone to drug abuse were below 25 years of age.The use of tobacco is another growing concern in India where about 55000 children a day are being drawn towards its addiction.The high use of intravenous drugs is accompanied by  sharing of needles and hence high prevalence of HIV.

ABSTRACT:Drug abuse is common among sex trafficking victims,There are disparities and systematic racisim in the perceptions.Substance abuse among children is a cause of concern across the globe.This study aims to describe the adverse effects that adolescents substance abuse has on the levels of care giving and well being of families.

IMPACT OF THE MENACE:The victims of trafficking and violence Protection Act  enables those children who are coerced into the broad forms of trafficking and are forced to take certain drugs that are harmful for their health.Many children as the Human Rights Report Council have been forced into hazardous forms of labour thereby causing them an emotional and physical distress.Many families have been forced to sell their children away for money in their family without knowing what kind of serious impact it might be causing to their children.Various forms of diseases like HIV and other types of cancerous diseases occur to these children from working in mines and factories and even in fireworks industry.Some children are forced into pornography and other forms of dangerous occupations which needs to be curbed.

The menace has had a far reaching impact on women and children and most of their lives have been hampered either because of drug trafficking or because of any illegal way of employing children.Laws need to be implemented regarding the same.

CASE LAWS:The landmark judgement of Public at large vs state of Maharashtra where the Hon’ble judge has confirmed  that child trafficking is confined not only to the minors but also a system of trafficking young women has started which should be eradicated

In the case law of Prerna vs State of Maharashtra the judgement was being ruled that children who are being tortured will have to be produced before the Child Welfare Committee.Furthermore in Vishal Jeet vs Union of India the Hon’ble Supreme Court issued directions to the Government for setting up homes for children found begging in streets and also the minor girls pushed into flesh trade to protective homes.

CONCLUSION:The menace on child trafficking and drug abuse has to be eradicated at any cost.The problem has emerged since last few decades and laws have not been that Stringent regarding the same however the POCSO act had been established to eradicate the same but again not much improvement has been brought about regarding this field.

Child trafficking has been proved to be a menace since recent times and it has not only hampered lives of millions of women and girls but has also brought in its own effects of restricting them to tasks of slavery alone.However with the emergence human rights acts and many NGO’s and other organisations trying to curb the menace yet laws need to be stricter to be implemented effectively.
