Reliance Retail is currently seeking experienced professionals for the positions of Head Legal for Agri Trading Business.
JD:
• Lead the legal strategy for the Agri Trading business, providing senior management with high-level legal counsel aligned with business goals.
• Mentor and direct the legal team in conducting research and preparing briefs on legal matters affecting the Agri Trading sector.
• Direct the drafting, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of contracts related to agricultural commodity trading, including purchase agreements, sales contracts, and service agreements.
• Engage with trade finance institutions, ensuring contracts comply with financial and legal requirements.
• Lead the organization’s adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to Agri Trading, including international trade regulations and environmental laws.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of policies and procedures that maintain legal and ethical integrity.
• Proactively identify and assess legal risks associated with agricultural commodity trading, providing actionable mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate potential legal implications of new market entries, commodities, or trading practices and advise accordingly.
• Collaborate with their legal team to maintain a risk register and monitor the efficacy of mitigation strategies.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes related to Agri Trading activities, leveraging expertise in trade law and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Work closely with internal teams and external counsel to minimize legal exposure from disputes.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the Agri Trading industry, analyzing impact on the business and advising on necessary actions.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and provide clear, concise legal analysis to support business decisions and risk management strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with legal firms, industry associations, and regulatory bodies to support the company’s Agri Trading operations.
• Represent the company in legal discussions and negotiations, ensuring the company’s best interests are upheld.
• Manage the organization’s intellectual property portfolio in the Agri Trading sector, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights related to agricultural products and technologies.
• Develop strategies to protect the company’s intellectual property rights in a competitive trading environment.
• Maintain meticulous records of all legal documents, contracts, and compliance reports to ensure transparency and accountability in Agri Trading activities.
