Syed Shujath Mehdi completed his Bachelor of Engineering from Vivekananda Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. Thereafter he pursued and completed his LL. B from Law Center-II, Delhi University and a PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from prestigious National Law School of India University. He is enrolled with the Karnataka State Bar Association.
