• Special focus on copyright in music, films, OTT platforms, software, and digital content
• Practical Task: Draft a Copyright Assignment or License Agreement
• Case Analysis: Study of a landmark judgment on digital copyright infringement
Module 4: Patent Law and Drafting Techniques
• Essentials of patentability and the procedural framework for filing
• Drafting techniques for provisional and complete specifications
• Introduction to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and international applications
• Practical Task: Draft a Provisional Patent Specification based on a hypothetical invention
Module 5: Industrial Designs & Trade Secrets
• Legal protection of Industrial Designs – registration, term, and scope
• Safeguarding Trade Secrets through contracts, NDAs, and internal company policies
• Practical Task: Draft a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for IP protection in startups
Module 6: Geographical Indications (GI) & Emerging IP Trends
• GI registration process under Indian law with case studies (e.g., Darjeeling Tea, Madhubani Paintings)
• Cutting-edge developments: IP and Artificial Intelligence (AI), NFTs, Open Source Licensing
• Practical Task: Create a GI Application Checklist + Draft a Legal Opinion on AI-generated content and IP rights
Module 7: IP Litigation, Enforcement & Remedies
• Remedies under civil and criminal law for IP infringement
• Domain name disputes, border enforcement measures, and jurisdictional challenges
