When the case regarding the land in Ayodhya came into light, it became a serious matter for whole of the country as it involved two serious matters which are this case is between the two religions, Hindu and Muslim second is spirituality, the devotion towards Lord Rama. This matter became a matter for fight also in the Indian Politics.
There has been a long battle related to the Land. The dispute started when the Mosque build in Ayodhya in 1529, which Hindus considered to be a land of Lord Rama. Many suits were filed after 1850. In 1992, a dispute arises when a crowd of thousands of people assembled at the Babri Mosque who broke the police cordons and started destroying the Mosque. They destroyed the mosque with hammers, rods. After this incident many riots happened in other parts of the Indian Cities. What had happened in 1992 was not a outcome of only few days, but it was a long battle which had started many years ago. The temple was and still is a sensitive issue. Then in 2002, many Hindus were again gathered by the BJP to march towards Ayodhya to build the Rama Mandir. Since, from that time this dispute had taken a face of politics too. Every party is involved blaming each other. After this the case continued in the Supreme court, and the ruling was made in the year 2019, giving permission to build the Hindu temple, also gave some acres for the Mosque too. The Temple was completed in 2024, rituals were performed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, other guests were also invited for the ceremony. Politicians, Celebrities Maharaj’s Gurus all were invited and were present there on that day. The dispute has been resolved in the court, but still remembering that time people still feel horrified.

The Mosque was constructed in 1529. The Hindu side said that the Mosque was built by destroying a temple which was there. They demanded that the Temple must be built here now but British Government Rejected their request. This case was a historic as well as a case which involved all the Prime Ministers of India.
Abstract
India is a vast country. Many religions are followed in India. Religion is a sensitive matter in India as there is always dispute arises between the Hindus and Muslims. There is always fight, that in place of mosque there exist a temple. India is a secular country. India as a nation supports every religion and do not envisaged disputes between the religions. There are many disputes which had happened between both the religions. The dispute was not the first one over the religion and will not be the last one. As long as there is a division between the people of different religions, the disputes will not stop.

Facts of the Case
This case is known as Ayodhya Dispute Case. It was a landmark judgement.
In 1529, Babri Mosque was constructed in Ayodhya by Mir Baqi. After this a suit was filed in 1885 in Faizabad district court, to build a temple in place of Babri Mosque, which was later rejected by the Court.
In December 1949, an idol of Indian God Ram had appeared in the premises of the Mosque. Hindus sees this as a divine power of God and started praying there. However, many said that the idol was put by someone at night.
Hindu side again filed a suit to start pooja there. Permission was granted by the court to conduct pooja but the inner courtyard gates were still closed.
In 1959, one more suit was filed for taking the possession of the land.
In 1961, a suit was filed from the Muslim side for the possession of the Babri Mosque, also demand the removal of Ram idol from the premises.
BJP leader LK Advani was the person who led the movement. After this, orders were passed allowing Hindus to perform pooja, which were protested by the Muslim side. In 1989, all the suits related to this case shifted to the Allahabad High Court. In 1990, a rath yatra was conducted from Somnath (Gujarat) to Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) due to which communal riots break out. In 1992, the Babri Mosque was demolished by the Karsevaks out of devotions towards Lord Rama, they also built a temporary Temple there.
The parties involved in the case were Nirmohi Akhara, Ram Lalla, the statement was submitted on the behalf of Ram Lalla, Gopal Singh Visharad, Hindu Mahasabha, Sunni and Shia Waqf Board.

Judgement
The Court said that rulings which were made previously in this case were set aside by the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi. The disputed land was given to the Government. The Court ordered to give the land to the Hindu side. The court ordered the Central Government to grant land to the Muslim Community also for the Mosque. The plea of Nirmohi Akhara to control the disputed land was rejected by the Court. After the judgement of the Court, the petitions which were presented in the court were dismissed by the Supreme Court.
Mathura Janmabhoomi- Shahi Idgah Mosque
It is also a historical dispute which is related to the Mathura’s Shahi Idgah Mosque connected to the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple. The suit is related to the removal of the Idgah Mosque from the place of Krishna Janmabhoomi. But in 2022, the Public Interest Litigation was dismissed by the court.
Gyanvapi Case
Permission was granted by the court to conduct prayers inside the Gyanvapi Mosque situated in Varansi (UP). The Case is still going in the Supreme Court.
The Places of Worship (special provisions) Act, 1991
The act was enacted to protect the places of worship. The Act prevents the conversion of existing place of worship of one religion to the place of worship of another religion. The act was enacted to stop the disputes which were happening between the different religions. The Act stops the conversion of religious places of worship as they existed on August 15, 1947. The Act does not include the Ayodhya dispute.
Conclusion
The Conflict was about the place of the God. It was about which religion will get the land to serve their prayers. The conflict has been a part of India even before the Independence. It was a longest running case, which finally got its decision in 2019. It Is the duty of the state to bring peace and harmony in their place, to treat every religion accordingly.
